The Story.
Adventurers from all around the globe have heard of the crystal - that which gives life to the planet, filled with power and beauty. It is said it may be able to grant some of that power to those who find one if it's splintered shards. Though small, they hold more energy then man could ever hope to possess.
Until now, of course. Shudders shook the globe, and not one person was spared the tremors. This went on for days, random shocks and aftershocks yet gave no evidence of earthquakes, cataclysms or disasters. Yet one thing was different. After the quakes had ceased, an immense island had risen from the sea. Atop the center peak a bright light shone that all could see from leagues across. Creatures, settlers and most importantly, adventureers flocked to the island in search of that mysterious light, and the island's secrets.
Auditions and refference.
The audtion may be written or in comic, and must show how the character finds out about this light, and how they come to the island.
The refferance must be a full-body drawing of the character (for the comic artists' benefit), and state their job and general biography.
The biography can be included in the image or the description boc underneath the deviation. The biography mut include Strenghts and weaknesses for those who are not completely familiar with the jobs featured throughout the final fantasy series.
NOTE: This tournament does NOT allow characters already in the games, such as Cloud, Squall, Zidane etc.
Locations and round setups.
There are four locations, and a fifth and sixth for the victors of the final battles in the previous four locations.
The last two locations will be revealed when the time comes. I want them to be pretty epic.

Here are the locations.
The newhowme beach heads.
Many People are arriving by the day, and tensions are high among the adventurers - many cross swords and staves quite erly on in their adventure. Those at home with the sun, heat and water will be at home in battle here. But watch out for the odd giant crab or antlion!
The beach is dotted with boats, settlers, dunes and palms. it is up to the adventurers to decide if they want to avoid harming any spectators.
Luster plains.
Home to chocobo herds, buffalo, and perhaps even a hungry dragon, this area consists of wide open fields dotted with small trees and rocks, and even an occasional settler's wagon. Strong winds and the odd rainshower often vister Luster plains, and may make life difficult for any adventurers who decide to duke it out.
Fiend swamps
Before anybody can attempt to scale the mountains in the center of the island, they must deal with the treacherous Fiend swamps. All swamps are fiendish, yes, but this is certainly one you'd avoid at all costs. Bogs, mires and sinking mud holes dot the swamps as expected, but the the nastiest of beasties can be found here. Endless amount of goblin tribes, oozing flans, wolves and cockatrice, and worst of all, the dreaded malboro. The adventurers who pass through here can only hope that these creatures turn on their opponants and not them.
Iz'gannon mountain range.
A range of mountains that ring the center peak that holds the gleaming light. The cliffs will be difficult to scale, but adventurers may be able to make their way through the caves beneath the mountains instead of above. Be wary of the ocasional magma outflow though, as aggressive bombs may wander about nearby, and tonberries often like to hide their cults deep in the caves. Why else do they carry lanters? On the higher peaks where snow gathers are where the most direct paths to the center can be found, but are difficult to travel and are home to the mighty behemoths.
Area four and five will be revealed by the end of round 3, when four contestants are left, providing 32 enter.
